Uses tools to aid in the design of products. Works with Marketing to ensure the best possible commercialization of the product. Works with manufacturing to ensure smooth transition from prototype to pilot run. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION l Assesses functions to determine whether new product would enhance existing product line or provide additional function for customers. Collects data on products through reports, testing and marketing feedback. l Design new and/or re-design existing product line. Produces designs, complex layouts, assemblies, detail parts list drawings on CAD system and generates associated bills of material. Ensures designs support cost effectiveness. l Develops project timelines and product cost comparisons, selects materials, commercial parts and technical data. l Coordinates all product test activities. Builds and tests prototypes. Follows up appropriately in correcting errors. l Organizes activities to implement new product introduction. Works with purchasing to verify vendors and new part samples according to ISO guidelines l Assists manufacturing, quality control and aftersales in correcting any problems encountered in plant and at site l Other responsibilities as assigned or required by Manager l Evaluates existing products for re-design based on issues raised by customers, vendors or internal team. QUALIFICATION l Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (ME) l At least 5 years designing experience l Proficient in Inventer or coordinate software l Ability to interface with staff at all levels in corresponding departments LEVELS:
